The improvisation on Musical Prayer is steeped in introspection, spiritual suspense, and gentle balance. It was captured during a series of morning meditations in the monastic Maison St.Ives, next to Chartres Cathedral.
On this recording Hans employs a technique called live-looping which enables him to record himself on the fly and play to it, adding or subtracting multiple melodic layers. The music is a melodic construction of a harmonic web which captures the listener with its gentle but probing quality.
Subtle and passionate, understated and elegant, deliberate yet played with abandon, Musical Prayer will remind the listener of their own spiritual journey. A great track to exhale, do yoga, slow movement, or have a talk with God.
